Linen is a material in Enshrouded that is required in order to unlock many different blueprints as well as to get the Advanced Glider upgrade. It’s a very valuable material, but getting it can be a bit of a hassle, so in this post, we’ll show explain how to acquire Linen in Enshrouded, and also help you with some additional tips that will make the process a bit easier.

How to make Linen in Enshrouded
First and foremost, unlike many other resources and materials in the game, you don’t simply find or mine Linen, and instead, you need to craft it. In order to make Linen in Enshrouded, there are two main components you’ll need: the Hand Spindle and Flax. The Hand Spindle is the tool that will allow you to make Linen, and Flax is the raw material from which Linen is made. In the next lines, we’ll tell you how to get them.
Once you already have both the Hand Spindle and some Flax, you can use the Spindle to make Linen, and then use Linen for whatever upgrades and items require it.
How to get the Hand Spindle in Enshrouded
In order to get the Hand Spindle, you’ll need to complete a specific quest, called The Hunter’s Hand Spindle, that has you retrace the steps of a game’s character, and read the notes they’ve left behind. The first location in the quest is the Westcott settlement in the Western part of the map. Once you reach the end of the quest, there, you’ll also find the Hand Spindle and, from then on, you’ll be able to use it.
This quest isn’t too difficult but involves a lot of exploration and walking around the map. It also requires you to go through the level 3 Shroud, so you’ll need to upgrade your Flame Altar to level 3 in order to complete the quest.
Flax locations in Enshrouded
Once you already have the Spindle, the next step is to find Flax. This is a blue flower that isn’t very common, and finding it can sometimes be tricky, if you don’t know the areas where it normally spawns.
One of the best places to find Flax in the early-game is to fast-travel to the Revelwood Ancient Spire in the Northwest part of the map and go Southeast from there, towards the Fawnsong Frontier camp. On your way there, you should find plenty of Flax flowers. They are tall blue flowers, like the one shown in the image at the beginning of this article. Be sure to pick all Flax flowers you come across, because this resource is very valuable, and you’ll be needing it a lot throughout the rest of the game.
