Fortnite Raiden 

The recent Fortnite X Metal Gear Solid collab introduced to the Battle Royale title a bunch of cool new items, quests, and skins with a Metal Gear Solid theme. One of the newly-added skins is that of Raiden, the protagonist in several of the Metal Gear games, and in this short post, we’ll talk about our impressions of this skin and tell you if we consider it to be worth its 1800 V-Bucks price tag.

Fortnite Raiden Skin: Before You Buy

The first important thing to point out about the new Fortnite Raiden Skin is that it shows the character of Raiden as he appears in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Fans of the gaming series will already know that the version of Raiden in that game is before he becomes a cyborg ninja, which is the version that most people are familiar with and that most fans of the character prefer. However, the Raiden skin we are getting in Fortnite is when he is still only a human, so some players may find his appearance to not be as badass and cool as it could have been.

Raiden Skin Fortnite – is it worth it?

That being said, the skin does look pretty nice, with a clean dark-gray tactical outfit. Also, you have the option to choose between two variants – with a gas mask on and off. A potential benefit of this skin is that it doesn’t stand out as much due to its muted color palette, thus making it less likely for enemies to spot you, especially in the darker areas of the map.

Something cool about this skin is that, for the price of 1800 V-Bucks (around $15), you get the entire Raiden skin bundle, which includes the skin itself, Raiden’s iconic high-frequency blade as a harvesting tool and a back bling, and a Raiden skin wrap.

Ultimately, if you are a fan of the MGS series and/or of character of Raiden, and don’t mind that the skin is of his human form, then we think you’ll like this skin bundle. On the other hand, since this skin isn’t anything too crazy and outstanding, it will probably not be particularly worth it to anyone who isn’t too much into Metal Gear Solid.
