I’ve been waiting for Elden Ring: Nightreign ever since the first whispers of its announcement. Sadly, it’s not available on Mac. But that didn’t stop me. I tested every method I could find to play it on my Mac – and I’m sharing everything I’ve learned here.
Can You Play Elden Ring Nightreign on Mac?
Elden Ring: Nightreign isn’t officially supported on macOS. There’s no native Mac version, and you won’t find it on the Mac App Store or anywhere with native compatibility. Still, that didn’t stop me from trying. I tested three alternative methods: Boosteroid, CrossOver, and Whisky. Each one came with its own pros and cons.
- Boosteroid turned out to be the best all-around option. It’s a cloud gaming platform, so I didn’t have to worry about my Mac’s specs. As long as I had a stable internet connection, I could play Nightreign at max settings without installing anything locally. Surprisingly, it didn’t even demand much bandwidth – perfect for casual or serious play without technical headaches.
- CrossOver was my next experiment. It’s a compatibility layer that lets you run Windows games on macOS. This method requires a bit of setup, but once configured, it ran Nightreign locally on my machine. Performance was good on my M2 Max MacBook Pro, so if you’ve got a solid Mac, it’s a strong solution.
- Then came Whisky. It’s another local workaround, built on Wine. It technically runs the game, but it’s buggy, and there’s no official support. It might work for some, but I wouldn’t recommend it long-term as it’s no longer supported by its developer.

Elden Ring Nightreign on Mac – Conclusion
After spending a good amount of time testing every method I could find, I can confidently say that playing Elden Ring: Nightreign on a Mac is absolutely possible.
Boosteroid gave me the smoothest and most reliable experience, while CrossOver offered a solid local option if you’re willing to tweak a bit.
Whisky worked, but it takes more fiddling aroun,d and it’s just not a good long-term option due to the dropped support.
All in all, if you’re a Mac user and want to dive into Nightreign, you’ve got real choices, so pick the one that best suits your needs.
