How to Download Supermarket Together on Mac

At the moment, there are two main methods that we recommend for downloading and playing Supermarket Together on an Apple computer – CrossOver and Bootcamp. Note that you can also play Supermarket Together on Mac without having to download it, by using a method known as cloud gaming (more on that in a bit).

Out of the two ways to download this game, the CrossOver app is the more popular because it’s easier to set up, is more user-friendly, and has active support from its developer – CodeWeavers. It’s also the only one of the two that works on Apple Silicon Macs.

Bootcamp is an older method that only works on Intel Macs and is therefore quickly becoming obsolete. However, for lighter titles like Supermarket Together, it still offers a valid way to enjoy the game without needing to buy a new machine.

And then there’s the aforementioned cloud gaming solution, currently only represented by Boosteroid for this game. Rather than downloading the game, you can simply stream it over the Internet. This solves all compatibility and system requirements problems associated with playing the game locally and is only limited by the strength of your Internet connection.

    Supermarket Together Mac Requirements

It’s rare for a modern game to require less than 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 960 GPU (or equivalent) as its minimum requirements, but that’s the beauty of indie games. They can be a ton of fun and still run on potato-powered systems.

However, since this game isn’t natively supported for Mac, it obviously doesn’t have official Mac requirements. For this reason, we created the table below to give you a general idea of what type of Mac hardware is required to meet the minimum system requirements of Supermarket Together.

    * The reason so much more space is required for Intel Macs is because they need to have enough storage to accommodate Windows 10 and also some storage left, so the Mac doesn’t become sluggish due to a lack of free space.

How to Play Supermarket Together on Mac

We’ll give you three methods to play Supermarket Together on your Mac machine. They all worked great in our testing, but they do have some important differences, so choosing which one to use will depend on both your Mac model and your personal preference.

The methods in question are Boosteroid Cloud Gaming, CrossOver, and Bootcamp. To learn how to use them, check out the respective instructions you’ll find below.

Stream Supermarket Together on Mac With Boosteroid

Imagine playing Supermarket Together without installing anything locally. Boosteroid makes this possible. How to Get Better Supermarket Together Performance on Boosteroid

Boosteroid works great in a web browser. The macOS client takes it up a notch. Reduced packet loss. Smoother gameplay.

    1. Visit your profile page. Click on “Apps” in the sidebar.
    2. Download the client for your Mac (Apple Silicon or Intel).

    3. Install, launch, and log in.
    4. Then just find the game in the Boosteroid library and start it, just like in the browser.

The reason this should offer better performance is that the app has lower packet loss compared to the browser version. The main practical difference is that you’ll be getting lower latency when playing, which is especially relevant if your Internet isn’t great.

Run Supermarket Together on MacBook With CrossOver

CrossOver is currently the most popular way to run games locally on a Mac. It provides several advanced translation layers that allow you to play thousands of games on your Mac (provided that you already own them, of course).

It’s really easy to use and doesn’t require any advanced knowledge or experience on your end. Here’s how to quickly set it up and use it to play Supermarket Together.

    1. Download CrossOver from the link above. They offer a 14-day free trial. Test the waters before you commit.
    2. Create a new “bottle” in CrossOver (from the Bottle menu). A virtual environment for your Windows apps. Set it to Windows 10 compatibility for the best results.

    3. Within CrossOver, click Install, and search for Steam. Install it. This will let you play Supermarket Together.
      crossover install steam
    4. Tweak settings. Enable D3DMetal and MSync. Smoother gameplay awaits.
    5. Log in to your Steam or Epic account. Download Supermarket Together. Start playing.

Don’t worry if you notice any initial choppiness when you first start the game – it’s normal. Your Mac just needs some time to compile the game’s shaders, but after that, the performance should stabilize.

If you are still not okay with the FPS rate after some time of playing, consider lowering the in-game graphical settings to make it easier on your Mac.

How to Run Supermarket Together on MacBook With Bootcamp

If you are on an Intel-based Mac, the Bootcamp method can actually be quite viable for this game. Intel Macs are now a thing of the past and even the latest models are falling behind in terms of hardware capabilities.

However, this shouldn’t be a problem for a low-requirements title like Supermarket Together. So if you are willing to spend an hour or two setting up Windows 10 on your Intel MacBook (or desktop Mac) and have some 60 gigs of free space, here’s how to get everything ready:

    1. Make sure your Mac has enough space. Some 40 gigs for the Windows partition and another 20 GB free on your macOS partition. No one likes running out of space mid-installation.
    2. Download a Windows 10 ISO file from Microsoft’s website.
    3. Open Boot Camp Assistant from the Utilities folder in Applications. The tool guides you through partitioning and installing Windows.
    4. Click the File Selector in the Boot Camp tool, navigate to the downloaded ISO file, and open it in the app.
      bootcamp assistant choose file
    5. Drag the dot left or right to adjust the size of the two partitions.

    6. Click Install > Continue, and wait for the Mac to restart.
    7. Follow the instructions to install Windows. Skip the product key if needed. Select “I don’t have a key“. Continue with the prompts.
    8. Once the new OS installs configure its settings to finally load into Windows.
    9. Finally, download and install Steam. Log in. Install Supermarket Together. Ready to play? Yes.

The process may seem lengthy and time-consuming, but it’s actually quite streamlined and everything should work without any obstacles.

Supermarket Together on Mac: Methods Verdict

Three methods. Three different ways to enjoy Supermarket Together on your Mac. Boosteroid offers convenience. No local installation, just quick and easy cloud gaming. CrossOver balances local play with the ease of macOS. Boot Camp, though more hands-on and limited to older Macs, delivers a native experience.

    boosteroid cloud gaming

If your Mac isn’t the latest and greatest, Boosteroid could be your best friend. It requires less from your hardware (barely anything to be fair). The streaming quality depends on your internet connection which, sure, leads to a bit more lag at times. But for casual gaming, it’s an excellent choice.

Boosteroid provides flexibility, letting you choose between different plans. The Standard plan should suffice for most players. But if you crave that ultra-smooth 4K experience, Ultra has you covered.

Ultimately, it’s a balanced option fit for all types of Macs that opens the gates not only to Supermarket Together but also to a huge collection of other great titles (both AAA and indies).

    crossover codeweavers

CrossOver appeals to those who prefer running the game directly on their Mac. No need to mess with cloud gaming or install a full version of Windows. Just download CrossOver, set up a bottle, and you’re good to go.

The performance might surprise you. Sure, you might need to tweak settings here and there, especially if your Mac isn’t top-of-the-line. But the fact that you can enjoy a Windows game on macOS without much hassle? It’s a win in our book.

    bootcamp mac

Boot Camp remains the most demanding method, but it’s also the most rewarding (if your Mac can handle it, that is). Running Windows natively means you get the best performance that your machine can deliver.

No virtualization, no cloud streaming. Just pure, unfiltered Windows gaming. The caveat is that Intel Macs aren’t known for their great GPUs, but for a lightweight title like Supermarket Together this shouldn’t be an issue.

If you have an Intel-based Mac and don’t mind dedicating part of your hard drive to Windows, Boot Camp is the way to go. It’s ideal for those who want to squeeze every bit of performance out of their machine. Older Macs can handle Supermarket Together well enough. And if you’re using a newer Intel model, expect smooth sailing.

All three methods bring Supermarket Together to your Mac in their unique ways. Boosteroid offers the quickest setup and is the most versatile by a large margin. CrossOver provides a balance of performance and convenience. Boot Camp, while the most involved, offers the most stable performance for the hardware you have.

Whatever you choose, one thing’s certain: you’ll be exploring the aisles of Supermarket Together in no time. Ready to grab that virtual shopping cart? The fun awaits.
