Hi Allan, you will need to back up any important files from your current OS system before installing Chome OS. You can use any cloud based storage if you don't want to save it on a physical hard drive.

I have played around with Neverware version and now Chrome OS Flex. It installs fine on a desktop PC with a Pentium G6400 and 8Gb RAM. While it did recognize my Realtek Wifi card and connected. It tended to randomly drop the connection even though had good signal quality. I ended up using a Wired LAN connection. This has always been the problem with Chrome OS. It tends to only support certain hardware that is in their Chromebook's. Installing Chrome OS is much easier on a PC or older Mac then a newer Mac due to Apple's security built into recent Intel models. Don't even bother trying to install on an Apple silicon Mac.
