The code you gave has changed the double hyphens to an M-dashes. It needs 2 hyphens before “install” and 2 hyphens before “agree”. Here is the correct command:
softwareupdate –install-rosetta –agree-to-license

All of these articles say “just launch an app.” I don’t have an app, I have a plug-in for photoshop that I need to use and won’t run, I need to install rosetta. I don’t get the prompt. How do i install without an app?!?! Or give me a link to an app I can install. God I hate Macs!!!

And if this advice doesn’t work? My Intel apps, in this case Office for Mac 2011, simply don’t run. The popup says “you need to update to office 365, and pay a monthly fee for a product you already own”. No mention is made of Rosetta. So how do I find and install it?
